Notes

An independent laboratory has tested the efficacy of Kärcher's steam cleaners for fighting viruses. The result: When used correctly, the devices can rid hard surfaces of up to 99.999 % of enveloped viruses, such as corona and influenza viruses, and 99.99 % of typical household bacteria. As outpatient and inpatient care facilities are currently being prioritised for disinfectants, steam cleaners can play a crucial role in maintaining general hygiene, both in private households and in commercial or industrial applications.
When spot cleaning with the Kärcher steam cleaner, i.e. steam cleaning an area for 30 seconds with maximum vapour pressure, 99.999 % of enveloped viruses such as corona or influenza viruses (excluding the Hepatitis B virus) are removed from smooth surfaces typically found in the home (based on a PVC surface; in accordance with EN 16615:2015-06); test microbe: Modified Vaccinia Ankara).


When cleaning at a cleaning speed of 30 cm/s and using maximum vapour pressure, 99.99 % of all typical household bacteria are removed from smooth surfaces typically found in the home (test microbe: Enterococcus hirae). 99.999 % when using professional steam cleaners SG(V) in accordance with EN 16615:2015-06, PVC floors, test microbe: Enterococcus hirae ATCC 10541.
